Step One: Site Consultation

  • The site consultation takes about an hour to discuss your gardening goals, at which time I can give you a quote for the design. Every design is priced differently depending on the size and scope of the project:
    • For a single feature, such as a rain garden, parking strip, or hedgerow, the price range is $125-$200.
    • For the front yard or backyard design, the price range is $250-$400.
    • For a full yard design, the price range is $400-$600.
    • I’m also happy to work within your budget.

*If you would just like a site assessment, I charge a flat rate of $125. The site assessment will look at any problem areas, soil conditions, plant health, basic pruning, invasive weeds, and anything else you’d like to discuss. Included in the site assessment is a basic basemap of your site with notes and plant recommendations for specific areas.

Step Two: Contract and Measurements of the Site

  • If you decide to move forward with a landscape design…
    1. We will decide on a finish date for the final walk through for your Master Planting Plan.
    2. Sign a contract for both of us to keep on file.
    3. I ask for a $100 down payment.
    4. I will then need to take site measurements to draft the design.

Step Three: Final Walk Through and Master Plan

  • The hardscape and planting plans will be printed on 11″ x 17″ (larger prints are quite a bit more costly, but it is not a problem to resize).
  • At the time of the Final Walk Through, if you want to make any changes, I will note this and send you a copy of your design via email (PDF) – no extra charge. If no changes are made, you will still receive your design package:
    • Master planting plan
    • Plant list with photos
    • Recommendations and phasing for how to install your design, and
    • Where to source materials and landscape contractors to help with your project
  • I ask for the final payment of your design after the final walk through.

*Payments can be made via Venmo, cash or check.

That’s all there is to the design process!
